Guide 02 · Choosing an agency

How do you choose a digital marketing agency in Dubai?

Judge agencies on things you can check before you sign: published prices, the people who'll do the work, work you can open, and who owns the accounts. Then ask how they handle your sector's rules and what they won't promise. This guide is a criteria table, not a ranking, and it shows where Lucidarc Digital meets each check and where we're still building.

What should you check before you hire an agency?

Seven things, each one checkable before a contract: prices, people, proof, accounts, how they reply, your sector's rules, and the terms. The last column is our own answer, including where it's not yet good enough.

Can you trust "best agency in Dubai" lists?

Read them as marketing until you've checked who published them. Several of the lists that AI assistants quote for Dubai agency questions are published by an agency that ranks itself first. Evidence Self-ranking lists feed AI answers. In the Google AI Mode answers we checked on 2 Oct 2026 for "agency in Dubai" questions, several cited lists were published by an agency that placed itself first. • Find the publisher. If it's an agency, note where it put itself.
  • Look for the method: how many agencies were reviewed, on what, and when.
  • Prefer facts you can check (licence, address, published prices, named clients) over adjectives.
  • Check directories with verified client reviews, knowing they favour agencies with older client books.

We don't publish a ranking, and we don't rank ourselves. Criteria travel better than verdicts.

What should an agency never promise?

Rankings, a mention in ChatGPT or Google's AI answers, a number of leads, or a reply time on your behalf. Google says its AI features are rooted in its core Search ranking and quality systems, and that no special files or markup are needed to appear in them. Evidence · published What Google recommends instead. Google's recommendations, in order: non-commodity content that doesn't recycle what others say, a page that is indexed and snippet-eligible, a good page experience, relevant images and video, Merchant Center and Business Profile details, and the usual SEO best practices. It points to the Generative AI performance report in Search Console for measurement. Google Search Central · checked 2 Oct 2026 Open the evidence → Nobody outside Google controls those systems, so a promised placement is a promise nobody can keep.

What an agency can honestly commit to: what it will build, by when, what it will measure, and what it won't do. Ours is on each service page under "who it's for, and who it isn't".

Should you hire a specialist or a full-service agency?

It depends where your enquiries leak. A specialist is enough when one step is clearly the problem: a site that doesn't convert, or ads nobody tracks. A team that covers several steps helps when they depend on each other, because campaigns can't be judged without tracking, and follow-up can't start from an enquiry nobody captured.

What should you ask on the first call?

  1. What would you charge for my business, as a range, and what's excluded?
  2. Who will do the work, by name? Is any of it outsourced?
  3. Which live sites or campaigns can I open, and which client can I call?
  4. Whose name is on the ad, analytics, CRM and WhatsApp accounts?
  5. How will you track an enquiry from the first click to the person who answers it?
  6. Which rules shape marketing in my sector, and who approves creatives?
  7. What will you report monthly, and against what?
  8. What won't you promise?
  9. If my buyers search in Arabic, who writes the Arabic, and who checks it?
  10. What happens to my accounts and content if we stop?

Where is Lucidarc Digital still building?

In three places, and you should weigh them. We're licensed in Dubai (licence 91969) Evidence · published Licensed in Dubai. Lucidarc Digital - FZCO, licence 91969, issued by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority. Premises 91969-001, IFZA Business Park, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis. • No client reviews yet. We haven't collected reviews on a directory. We'll only ever ask real clients, without incentives.
  • No named team on the site yet. Ask us who would work on your account; we'll tell you on the call.
  • No published client results yet. Our projects show what we built and its status. Figures appear only once they're measured and the client agrees.

If any of these rules us out for you, that's a fair reason. The cost guide covers the money side of the same decision.

Questions

Asked, and answered first.

The follow-up questions this guide gets, each answered in its first sentence.

What questions should I ask a digital marketing agency in Dubai?

Ask for a written price range with exclusions, who will do the work by name, live work you can open, whose name is on each account, how they track an enquiry to the person who answers it, which rules shape your sector, and what they won't promise.

Who should own the ad and analytics accounts?

You should. The agency should work inside your Google Ads, Meta, analytics, CRM and WhatsApp accounts as an invited user, so the accounts and their history stay with you if you part ways.

What are the red flags when hiring an agency?

Guaranteed rankings or AI mentions, accounts opened in the agency's name, no written price, ad spend blended into the fee, and no live work you can open.

Does an agency need permits to run influencer posts in the UAE?

Individuals who publish advertising on social media from inside the UAE need an Advertiser Permit, with an exemption for promoting your own business on your own account. Agencies must contract only with permit holders and keep records for three years. Confirm current rules with the National Media Authority.

Is Lucidarc Digital the right agency for us?

Maybe not. We're a fit if you want published prices, accounts in your name, and enquiries handed to a named person on your team. We have no client reviews or named team on the site yet; if those matter most, weigh that.
